The mandate
Translate regional priorities into a governed portfolio of transformation and operational-improvement initiatives. The work required disciplined selection, executive visibility, risk control, benefits validation, practitioner coaching, and sustained implementation.
My contribution
I governed the portfolio and coached project teams. I did not personally execute every initiative. My role covered portfolio intake, prioritization, decision support, tollgate governance, issue escalation, methodology coaching, benefit assurance, and executive reporting.
Governance system
- Converted strategic priorities into operational workstreams and measurable outcomes.
- Reviewed business rationale, process impact, risk, dependencies, benefits, and implementation readiness.
- Prepared portfolio reporting for senior leadership and contributed to formal transformation decision reviews.
- Coached project teams through structured improvement methods and sustainment controls.
- Supported a governed citizen-development lifecycle covering intake, risk zoning, build, validation, deployment, and sustainment.
Selected results
- Governed more than 100 regional transformation and improvement initiatives.
- Delivered over USD 2 million in cumulative project savings validated during the Shell tenure.
- Released more than 40,000 annual productivity hours.
- Enabled 148 approved citizen-developed automations with zero reported control breaches.
- Reduced recurring Finance Operations issues through stronger causal verification, ownership, quality gates, and effectiveness reviews.
Leadership lesson
Transformation portfolios lose credibility when activity counts replace benefit evidence. Strong governance connects strategic relevance, implementation readiness, risk ownership, operational adoption, and Finance-backed value.
